Entertainment during SHTF

We posted on our Facebook page:
James Ortega asked below: “What will will you do without our modern forms of amusement to keep entertained?”
Some comments we received:
Comment #1: I’d go with cards for sure. But depending on the situation, there may not be a lot of time to “have fun”. and cards you don’t need a lot of light to use so works well when all you have for light is candles or firelight.
Comment #2: I have a whole room full of these things called books and board games. I know that they’re forgotten media nowadays, but they’re still enjoyable to my family and I. The funny thing about these items is, they don’t use any form of electricity at all. You can put a puzzle together, play chess or Monopoly, or read a fiction or non-fiction book all by candle light without batteries even. I think more folks should check into them.

Comment #3: Fortunately everyone in my family plays some type of musical instrument, none of which require power. I have a decent library and like to read, but don’t know how much “free time” there’ll be to worry about being bored and needing entertainment.
Comment #4: In a survival situation, you are hunting, fishing, foraging, gathering firewood, sentry duty, taking care of the old, sick, infants, cooking cleaning, maintenance on tools and weapons, moving and maintaining latrines, teaching your camp survival, teaching the children, storing and preserving food, gathering and treating water etc.. In the spare time I entertain with sleep and dreaming.
