Fire method

Thomas Mullins posted this picture below, what do you think? “One of my Methods to Fire.”

Some comments we received:

Comment #1:  Mora Knife and a flint striker should be about all you need to get a fire going… oh and the knowledge of how to use them properly… spend all you want on kit.. if you don’t know how to use it your wasting your money….

Comment #2:  Well done, we should always have two or three methods handy. Bic lighter, magnesium stick, strike anywhere matches dipped in beeswax, and if you get Steele wool you can use your cell phone battery to ignite that. Magnifying glass, keeping a little dryer lint doesn’t hurt either.

Comment #3:  Like having several methods to start fires, I never leave my house without several knives. I always carry a pocket knife & a few multi-tools of different types in my purse, all of which have knife blades in them. Can never be to prepared:)

Comment #4:  Primary method is UCO stormproof matches in a Matchcap. Backup is Vaseline and cotton balls with magnesium and striker. Drier lint is basically cotton balls. You can get a small tube of Vaseline and a small pill bottle filled with cotton balls. Good thing on the tinder is vaseline and cotton balls have multiple uses. I have a 30 dollar windproof lighter but it isn’t as good as matches.
