Fire starting kit
We posted on our Facebook page:

What do you think of Jeff’s fire kit?
Some comments we received:
Comment #1: Not bad, compact but with a number of options. Only concern is that you don’t have char cloth, just the makings for it, if you have the fire necessary to make it, then you wouldn’t need the char cloth. Personally I would add a cotton ball or two or a tampon or two, The small ones without the aplicator. Its just a chunk of really compressed cotton, wrapped in celephane. So its water proof and ready to use. Open the cellephane and pull it apart and you have great tinder. Of course, its personal opinion. Overall great little kit.
Comment #2: You can have your cotton cloth and all that mess. I’ll just keep a ziplock of dryer flint. Much more combustible for fire starting timber.
Comment #3: I also have a mag fire starter and a small bottle of hand sanitizer in mine. It is nothing more than a very quick and somewhat longer burning kit that I have. Works great and has never let me down yet.
Comment #4: I’d recommend you ditch the bic lighter and get a djeep lighter instead. Better quality and due to its shape it’s much easier to handle when your hands are cold and/or wet.
