Comment #1: I have done it a million times just remember to leave a vent hole somewhere and for some extra throw some old news paper under your tent.

Comment #2: I generally go out with only a lightweight tarp year round… make a lean-to, deer hide on the ground, double sleeping bag in the winter with a small fire out in front… if you use a tent that closes up tight in the winter it will end-up raining on you by morning…. condensation…

Comment #3: There are toppers you can buy that clip onto the tie downs. It really helps keep the body heat trapped inside the tent. My family was cozy down in the 30s. Coleman brand is what we have.

Comment #4: My experience has been that its really not difficult to keep a tent warm…however in any case, please always leave a vent or cross vent going.
