Paracord for steering wheel

We posted on our Facebook page:

Jeffrey Bunch sent us a message asking “Does anyone know how much paracord coming off a roll it takes to wrap a steering wheel? I think this is a good place to store it in my truck.”
Some comments we received:

Comment #1: Thickness of the wheel times 3.14 plus the diameter of the of the steering wheel times 3.14. should get you close. Count for finger bumps and attachment bars that hold the steering wheel to the post.

Comment #2: I’d rather store a hank of it in the trunk/ glove box/ under seat, if you need it. who is going to take the time to unwind that when you could just grab it and go.

Comment #3: How much degradation is there. I use it in my barn to hold up tarps and I have one that has been in full sun for four years and the ropes still seem really good. I like the steering wheel idea just for the novelty. But I am curious about the degradation time.

Comment #4: Only if you can protect it from the sun, the UV will cause rope to deteriorate.
