What firearm to carry

Some comments we received:

Comment #1:  I think carrying is one of those things I should and you should not (know if I have anything). Nothing against y’all by any means. Just a personal thought when it comes down to it… if anyone knows I am carrying, then I am the first target if something is about to go down. Of course, that is more of an urban setting thought process; it just goes the same for any setting in my head.

Comment #2:  Not all states allow a CCW or an Open Carry permit. Unless you happen to be law enforcement. If the SHTF, then everyone will be carrying regardless.

Comment #3:  I carry daily from the time I get dressed to the time I go to bed regardless of what I’m doing or where I’m going. I don’t fly and stay out of areas where weapons are restricted unless I absolutely HAVE to. then and only then I secure my pistol in the trunk of my car BEFORE I get where I’m going. I usually carry a Glock 23 or sometimes a Glock 19 with a spare full size magazine when off duty. I carry a Glock 22 on duty.

Comment #4:  I live in southeast Texas so we carry full time anywhere we go that is not involving alcohol. Sig p239 on pig hunts and camping trips as well as vehicle carry, Ruger LCP when I kayak or fish the bayous or walk the neighborhood, or when I need to wear clothing that is a little more difficult to hide a CC. Various guns in strategic places in my home just in case. Luckily Texas is pretty well supported as far as gun laws go. I don’t care if I am just walking to the mailbox. You never know when an aggressive dog wants to attack somebody or something random where you are left saying “damn I wish I had my firearm on me when that happened”. If you are not capable enough to make decent decisions in the heat of the moment then you should either train more scenarios, run them through your head constantly, or just don’t bother carrying anything.
