Survival can openers
We posted on our Facebook page:
Can you help Angie out with her question?
Some comments we received:
Comment #1: P-38s and P-51 military can opener. You can buy them by the can fulls. Slower. but they will always work.
Comment #2: If you just want a kitchen can opener go to dollar general! If you want one to pack out get the ol P-38 or the P-51. I went thru the same thing, and happened to stop by D.G. for paper towels and got the can opener. It was sharp and felt a little cheap, but it has felt that way for three years now and works great!
Comment #3: Try Ace Hardware of failing that your local mom and pop hardware store I bought a manual blade style can opener 12 years ago in England and that thing is still going strong.
Comment #4: Go to your local Goodwill or Salvation Army. You can find kitchen and pretty much anything else that is used but stands up to the test of time. they always carry the old style can openers that are usually made to the original quality kitchen ware. Or your local antique store. they have even better ones.
