Maybe one of you or our friends at Center For Snake Conservation can help Cathy Heddinger Bradford with this picture. She asked “does anyone know what kind of snake this is?”

Answer: The snake is a juvenile black (eastern) rat snake and completely harmless to humans. Rat snakes are incredible mousers (much better than any cat or hawk) and help control mouse populations where they occur.
