BOB Cold Weather Gear

Jason Buehlmaier posted this below, what do you think? “Something to think about..it may be 95 here in Florida every day but,it does get cold here. In our brief winter or after a rain in the evening. How many of you have planned for cold weather gear in your BOB? I was camped on the west coast a few years ago and my heater ran out of propane overnight. I woke to my spine shaking and hypothermia setting in. I spent the last few hours in my truck with the heater on. So what will your plans be for cold weather after you bug out in August?”

Comment#1: In reality your bag will have to become heaver witch will slow you down ware I live in the winter and spring there is no shortage of water so I could save weight by not packing as much but that won’t make much difference because of
the extra weight in clothing that will take its place more food will also need to be packed because you will burn more calories trudging threw bad weather about the best thing one can do is cut there travel distance down focus on your shelter building and beef up your security hunker down and don’t be seen till the weather is better.
Comment#2: I keep a fleece jacket liner, wool glove liners, long sleeve shirt,watch cap, and thermals in a stuff sack in the bottom of my pack for cold weather, also I use a mil issue sleeping bag system, which can be set up for the different temps.
Comment#3: Carry some backup fleece products, really warm and lightweight.
