Flood prep ideas
We posted on our Facebook page:
Some comments we received:
Comment #1: Fishing rod, life jackets, Drybag containing first aid kit flashlite water proof matches n dry clothing
Comment #2: My road had flooding on it today, though it didn’t last long it got me thinking. I live on the side of a hill but I guess if it came to it I’d load up my Canadian Canoe.
Comment #3: Hook up my toy hauler to my truck and go to higher ground. I already live in it full time so all of my belongings are packed inside.
Comment #4: We live on the top of a good sized hill, but we have an inflatable raft in our bug out bags. We also have a small flat bottom boat loaded with supplies in the shelter, just in case. And the same in our travel trailer. My granny always said never to put all your eggs in the same basket. I think that anytime you can diversify between what resources you have is always a great idea!
Comment #5: Just prep for emergencies, store easy to cook foods and a way to cook them, and a LOT of water. SHTF is never going to happen unless aliens invade or something else equally impossible. That said, it is still a possibility we could see the second great depression, so if worried, you might want to buy some silver and stock up. Even if that happens, the S will not HTF, but things will suck bad for a lot of people.
