Comment #1: In a “Shelter in Place” scenario I would say having a large amount of stored water plus a means of getting more by alternative power. In a “bug-out” scenario I would say to keep a gallon or two but plan on using your filtration systems.

Comment #2: Good quality filter and purification. Large amount of stored water takes up to much storage space.

Comment #3: Both ! Some do not have access to water, like me! Water is 30 miles away , none in town what so ever. Stored water in barrels, and in closets and under beds, garage, basement.

Comment #4: Both but remember that it only takes 1/8th of a teaspoon of Regular Clorox to purify your water.

Comment #5: I have the Platypus Gravity Filter. Fill the Dirty bag with 4 liters of water and 4 minutes later (Depending on how dirty the water is) you have 4 liters of clean water, then fill the dirty with another 4 liters and you are now carrying 8 Liters of water.
