When a stranger knocks on your door

Some comments we received:
Comment#1: We have a small “NO SOLICITING” sign on our door. Legally they cannot try to sell you anything, but you do have to have the sign. We have a glass door (we are adding a security door in front of this one soon) and they can see in, we can see out. We NEVER answer, just use the intercom system or speak through the glass. I carry in my belly-band under my shirt as I am here full time.
Comment#2: I have answered door with gun in hand but not visible, I do recommend this if you do not know who the person is. Once you crack the door your danger level goes up 100% end of story. Use your head if it is a girl scout or boy scout or similar put the gun away.
Comment#3: I usually let my LRG dog answer the door before i head to it. If its someone who stays after hearing him howl at the door, then i hold on to his collar as i open with his nose right there staring them down. If they leave immediately, i know they were up to no good and i don’t worry about it.
Comment#4: It truly depends on where you live, I would like to say it’s really common sense but common sense isn’t very common any more, it’s more like a super power these days.
